What this involves

A deep clean covers everything a standard clean skips: inside the oven, behind the toilet, baseboards, cabinet faces, light fixtures, and the buildup that accumulates in corners over months. If your home hasn't had a thorough top-to-bottom clean in a while, or you're preparing for a new chapter, a deep clean is the right starting point. Magic Castle Cleaning is fully insured to $2,000,000 in general liability and has earned a 4.8-star average across 20 Google reviews in Salt Lake County. Call (801) 618-2548 for a free estimate.

Deep cleaning takes longer and costs more than a standard cleaning because the scope is genuinely different. A standard visit maintains a home that's already in good shape. A deep clean resets it. Expect us to clean inside appliances, wipe down all cabinet exteriors, detail baseboards and door frames, and hit the buildup spots that haven't been touched in months. What drives the price up: square footage, how long since the last professional clean, the condition of the kitchen and bathrooms, and the number of rooms requiring detailed work. The range across the market is wide for a reason: a small apartment in good shape is a very different job from a large home that hasn't been professionally cleaned in years. Every job is different — contact Magic Castle Cleaning for an accurate estimate.

What's Included

What a Deep Clean Actually Covers, Room by Room

This is the full list — not a highlights reel.

  1. 01

    Kitchen

Inside and outside the oven, inside the microwave, stovetop and burner grates, exterior of all appliances, cabinet faces, sink scrubbed and de-stained, countertops, backsplash tile, floor mopped. Grease buildup on range hoods gets addressed — not wiped around.

  2. 02

    Bathrooms

Toilet scrubbed inside and out including the base and behind the tank, shower walls and door tracks, mirror, vanity, cabinet exteriors, exhaust vent wiped, floor mopped. Soap scum and hard water stains get real attention here.

  3. 03

    Bedrooms and Living Areas

Baseboards wiped down, ceiling fans dusted, blinds wiped, door frames and light switch plates wiped, furniture dusted including undersides, floors vacuumed and mopped. We move what we can reach safely.

  4. 04

    High-Touch and Overlooked Spots

Door handles, light switches, cabinet pulls, and other frequently touched surfaces get sanitized. Windowsills, vents, and the tops of door frames are included — these are the spots that reveal whether a cleaner is being thorough or just fast.

How to Know If You Need a Deep Clean

Not every home needs a deep clean every time. But there are situations where a standard visit won't cut it.

It's Been More Than 3 Months

Grease layers in the kitchen, soap scum in the bathroom, and dust on baseboards build up fast. If it's been more than a few months since a professional clean, a standard service won't get you back to baseline.

You're Moving In or Preparing to Sell

A move-out cleaning and a deep clean overlap in purpose: both reset the home for the next occupant. If you're prepping for photos, a showing, or a new tenant, this is the right scope.

You're Starting Recurring Service

Most clients who want a regular cleaning schedule start with a deep clean. It gives us a clean baseline to maintain, and it gives you a home that actually feels different after visit one.

After a Renovation or Event

Construction dust settles everywhere, including inside cabinets and on surfaces you wouldn't expect. Same with a large gathering. A deep clean after either one gets the home back to a state you can actually relax in.

How It Works

Book, Clean, Done

No complicated intake. No hidden fees revealed at the door. Here's what happens when you call.

  1. Step01

    Call for Your Free Estimate

Tell us the size of your home, the last time it was professionally cleaned, and any specific areas of concern. We give you an honest scope and a clear price before anything is scheduled.

  2. Step02

We Show Up and Get to Work

Punctual, professional, and fully insured. Our team brings everything needed. You don't have to be home for the whole clean, but we do ask that you're available at the start to walk through the space, and for a final walkthrough afterward since this is a one-time visit, so we can confirm everything meets your expectations before we leave.

  3. Step03

You Come Home to Something Different

Not 'cleaner.' Actually different. The kind of clean where you notice things you'd stopped noticing. If anything isn't right, just point it out in the final walkthrough so we can make sure you're 100% happy before we leave — that's not a slogan, it's just the honest thing to do.

Why This Isn't the Same as a Standard Clean

Standard cleaning maintains a home. Deep cleaning restores it. The difference shows up in the details that a normal visit doesn't have time to address: the oven interior, the base of the toilet, the tops of cabinets, the buildup behind the faucet handles. A standard clean done weekly keeps things from getting bad. A deep clean is what you call when things already have. Honestly, we'd rather tell you which service you actually need than upsell you into one you don't. If your home is already in great shape and on a regular schedule, a house cleaning visit is probably the right call. If it isn't, we'll say so. We'd rather give you an honest answer on the phone than show up, do a light clean, and leave you feeling like you overpaid. Magic Castle Cleaning has been named a Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave three years running (2023, 2024, and 2025). That doesn't happen by telling people what they want to hear.

I was in the market for a biweekly cleaning and tried them out… super pleased! My place sparkles and they were happy to use my products even though they include theirs. I have several pets so I’m conscious of ingredients and also how dirty my place gets! Lol THANK YOU

Deep Cleaning Questions, Answered Straight

What is typically included in a deep clean?
A deep clean covers the surfaces and areas a standard visit skips: inside the oven and microwave, baseboards, door frames, cabinet exteriors, ceiling fans, and behind and under appliances where accessible. It's a full reset of the home, not just a thorough version of a regular clean.
What is the meaning of a deep clean?
A deep clean means going past the visible surfaces to address buildup, grime, and neglected areas. In practical terms: we clean inside appliances, wipe down every baseboard, and address the corners and fixtures that accumulate buildup over months. Standard cleaning maintains a home. Deep cleaning restores it.
How much would you pay for a deep clean?
The range is genuinely wide. A small apartment in decent condition costs far less than a large home with months of buildup. What drives cost up: total square footage, kitchen and bathroom condition, how long since the last professional clean, and the number of detail areas requiring extra time. Every job is different — contact Magic Castle Cleaning for an accurate estimate.
Is $50 an hour good for house cleaning?
It depends on what you're getting. An uninsured solo cleaner charging $50 an hour might seem like a deal — until something breaks or gets damaged and there's no coverage. Magic Castle Cleaning carries $2,000,000 in general liability insurance. What you're paying for isn't just labor; it's accountability, and the assurance that a licensed, insured business stands behind the work.
How long does a deep clean take on a typical home?
A 1,500 to 2,000 square foot home in average condition typically takes 3 to 5 hours with a two-person team. A larger home or one with heavy buildup in the kitchen and bathrooms will take longer. We don't cut the job short to hit a time target — the clean is done when it's done.
Do I need to do anything before the cleaning team arrives?
Clear loose items if you can — clothes, toys, things left on countertops. We clean surfaces, not sort belongings. Beyond that, you don't need to pre-clean anything. The whole point of a deep clean is that we handle the buildup you haven't had time or energy to address.
Can I book a deep clean and then switch to recurring service afterward?
Yes, and that's actually the most common way clients start with us. A deep clean gets the home to a baseline, then recurring standard cleans maintain it from there. It's more efficient for everyone: the home is easier to maintain, each visit takes less time, and you're not paying deep-clean rates every visit.
